Alternate Payment Processors
Apologies again that this is taking so long… we seem to be going around in circles with every option we look at, getting it almost working the way we want, and then hitting one obstacle or another than upsets things.
Unfortunately the ‘support’ response from a lot of these outfits seems to vary considerably depending on who you talk to, so we’ve also had a few instances where one person from a payment processor telling us we can do something, only to have a different person knock it back once the work was done.
So now we’re looking at a different approach…
If you want totally ‘hands-free’ payments, you will need to set up either PayPal and/or CoinPayments.
If you want to use a different option… Oru, Amazon Pay, GooglePay, ApplePay, Uphold etc…you’ll be able to add one or more of those to your checkout pages, but there will be extra steps for your customers and for you…
The other catch is, you’ll need to write instructions for your customers… telling them how to make the payment and to let you know the payment has been made, so you can then check the payment and activate their ads.
The good news is, you’ll be able to accept payments however you like… but you will need to be a little more hands-on with the sales process. Hopefully I’ll get that up and ready for testing this week…
One final option I haven’t given up on is Solid Trust Pay…
They are the closest option to PayPal’s payment buttons, but I’ve had mixed messages from these guys about whether or not we can create the checkout payment buttons on your behalf, but it sounds like we can, if you do some basic set up within your account first…
So I’d like to set it up and test it. If it doesn’t work we’ll drop it. If it does we’ll open it up to anyone who wants to use it… on the proviso that STP might eventually tell us to stop.
One or two test runs should tell me all I need to know, but I can’t do it on my own account since that’s already associated with AdCardz. So for now, if anyone already has a STP account and would like to assist me with the test, please drop me a note and I’ll let you know what we need you to do.
At this stage, might be best if any ‘helpers’ have a little experience with the STP platform and have already set up payment buttons on other websites?
